Services for alums, affiliates & visitors

Visitors

LITS welcomes visitors to use many of the collections, services and spaces on site during the general public building hours.  Cardswipe access is required for entry into the LITS Complex after 12:00 am.

The primary mission of LITS is to support the academic needs of current students, faculty and staff of Mount Holyoke College and the other Five Colleges and ensure their reasonable access to LITS resources, spaces and services. On occasion, visitors may be asked to yield to the needs of these primary users.

Computer and WiFi access

Visitors may use the public access computers throughout the LITS buildings in accordance with the College’s acceptable computer use policy. If you wish to connect to the College’s wireless network during your stay, you may use our guest network.

Printing and photocopying

Guest printing is available in the library with a PaperCut guest account. PaperCut guest accounts need to be setup from the PaperCut Pay Station located in the Information Commons. LITS Help Desk staff are available for assistance, also located in the Information Commons.

Library services

Research services are provided by Research Help and in Archives and Special Collections. LITS research services are open to all, regardless of affiliation. Certain categories of visitors may borrow from the library’s collection: alums, faculty and staff partners and children, and residents of South Hadley, Granby, Holyoke and Chicopee. Visitors may use most library databases while they are physically in the library. Interlibrary loan is restricted to Mount Holyoke College students, faculty and staff.

Event posters

The public bulletin boards inside the LITS main doors are available for posting advertisements and flyers for non-LITS services, events, activities and resources. Please do not post flyers anywhere else.

Appropriate behavior

Please note that LITS is committed to facilitating a responsible, pleasant and productive environment for both users and staff. LITS staff will ask users engaging in behavior that disrupts study and effective use of the library to stop the behavior or leave the building. See the Behavior policy for further detail.
