Forgotten your Mount Holyoke College Account password, or just need to reset it? Resetting your MHC Account password using the instructions below will change your password for Google Mail and Apps, Moodle, my.mtholyoke and all services that require MHC credentials.

Your recovery email address is managed through the myProfile section of my.mtholyoke alongside your emergency contact information.
For Colleague, AMBR file storage, and select Linux servers please use the Legacy Password Profile.

MHC Password Management through my.mtholyoke
Use the below instructions to manage your MHC Account password for most MHC systems.
(Passwords for Colleague, AMBR local file storage and select Linux servers will continue to utilize the legacy Password Profile system for now).
- Navigate to the my.mtholyoke Self-Service login page, enter your MHC username and one-time password, and choose Log In. (The College will email this information to you when your MHC Account is created.)

- You’ll arrive on a Change Password page with your MHC username prefilled.

- Enter the one-time password again in the Current password box.
- Enter and confirm a NEW permanent password of your choosing.
- Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- Not contain your username or parts of your full name that exceed two consecutive characters
- Be at least ten characters in length (and no longer than 127 characters)
- Contain at least one English uppercase character (A through Z)
- Contain at least one English lowercase character (a through z)
- Contain at least one base 10 digit (0 through 9)
- Contain at least one symbol:
- From this list: ! * + - # _ % ^
- Other symbols including [space] will be rejected
- Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- Select Change Password

Access your MHC email account:
Go to mail.google.com, entering your full MHC email address and the password you just created. Be sure to enroll in Google 2-step verification, a required security measure for all MHC Google accounts.
(Note that Five College students with MHC guest accounts don’t come with Google accounts.)
Access your my.mtholyoke account:
Choose Please sign in using your new password to continue to return to the login screen. Use your MHC username and new password to log in.
(Note that Five College students with MHC guest accounts don't have access to my.mtholyoke)
If you don’t remember your MHC Account password, you’ll need to reset it.
- Go to the Forgot Password page in my.mtholyoke self service.

- Enter your MHC username and a personal email address that you have on file with the College.
- How do I know what email address to use?
- Current students, faculty, or staff should use the email address they’ve maintained in their myProfile section of my.mtholyoke
- Alums should use an email address they provided the Alumnae Association or Advancement.
- Student applicants or new students not yet on campus should use an email address they provided to the Admissions office for their application.
- How do I know what email address to use?
- Choose Submit
- You’ll be sent an email with the subject line: Reset Your MHC Password.

- From that email, please select the “reset your password” link (or copy and paste the url at the bottom of the email into a web browser.)
- Note that this link is only active for 15 minutes. If you miss the window, just submit the forgot password form again.
- That will take you to the Reset Password screen.

- Enter your MHC username and a NEW password of your choosing.
- Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- Not contain your username or parts of your full name that exceed two consecutive characters
- Be at least ten characters in length (and no longer than 127 characters)
- Contain at least one English uppercase character (A through Z)
- Contain at least one English lowercase character (a through z)
- Contain at least one base 10 digit (0 through 9)
- Contain at least one symbol:
- From this list: ! * + - # _ % ^
- Other symbols including [space] will be rejected
- Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- After you’ve entered the new password and confirmed it, choose Reset Password
- The screen will confirm that your password has successfully changed.

- You’ll also get a message in your MHC email inbox notifying you that your MHC password has been changed.

Still remember your MHC Account password, but want to reset it anyway? Follow these instructions:
- Go to the Change Password page in my.mtholyoke's self service tools.

- Enter your MHC username and current password
- Then provide and confirm a NEW password.
- Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- Not contain your username or parts of your full name that exceed two consecutive characters
- Be at least ten characters in length (and no longer than 127 characters)
- Contain at least one English uppercase character (A through Z)
- Contain at least one English lowercase character (a through z)
- Contain at least one base 10 digit (0 through 9)
- Contain at least one symbol:
- From this list: ! * + - # _ % ^
- Other symbols including [space] will be rejected
- Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- After you’ve entered the new password and confirmed it, choose Change Password
- The screen will confirm that your password has successfully changed.

- You’ll also get a message in your MHC email inbox notifying you that your MHC password has been changed.

Make sure that MHC has your most up-to-date personal email address to support the password reset process.
- Log into my.mtholyoke
- Navigate to the myProfile section in the Self Service menu
- Scroll down to the Email Addresses section, where you should find your MHC email address as your “primary” email and your recovery email address listed as “other”

- Select the pencil icon to edit your recovery email address
- In the dialog box that appears, write in the correct email address
- Choose update email
Because of the way that our password system interfaces with College-owned PCs, faculty and staff who change their MHC password from off-campus may run into challenges logging into their computers. Please follow these instructions if you encounter this issue.
MHC Password Management in the Legacy Password Profile System
This system is now only used for managing account passwords for Colleague, AMBR file storage, and select Linux servers. Please note that it may take up to an hour for new passwords to work for Colleague.
Use these instructions if you want to reset your MHC Account password and you can log into the password profile page because:
- You know your current MHC Account password OR
- You have received a One-Day passphrase using the instructions under Recover your password.
Reset your password:
- Log in to the password profile page. We know our password profile page isn’t the most beautiful website we’ve ever made — but rest assured, it is secure and will do the job.
- On the Password policies page that you land on, use the Yes, continue button to continue.
- Next you will see the Review your recovery email address page. Check that you have a current personal email address on this page. Your recovery email address ensures your ability to recover access to your account if you forget your password. Use the Submit button to continue.
- Next you will see the MHC computer account profile page. In the section Change primary MHC password, enter a new password in both fields, paying attention to the password requirements.
- Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- Not contain your username or parts of your full name that exceed two consecutive characters
- Be at least ten characters in length (and no longer than 127 characters)
- Contain at least one English uppercase character (A through Z)
- Contain at least one English lowercase character (a through z)
- Contain at least one base 10 digit (0 through 9)
- Contain at least one symbol:
- From this list: ! * + - # _ % ^
- Other symbols including [space] will be rejected
- Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- Once you have entered a new password and confirmed it, use the Change password button.
- You will see a green confirmation screen with the message Primary MHC password set. You have successfully reset your password!
Use these instructions if you’ve forgotten your MHC Account password and need to reset it.
- Navigate to the password profile page. We know our password profile page isn’t the most beautiful website we’ve ever made — but rest assured, it is secure and will do the job.
- Choose Help with username or password.
- At the bottom of the page, enter your MHC username OR your last name (do not enter both) and your recovery email address.
- Your recovery email address is a personal email address that you supplied. If you are a student, this could be the email address you submitted to Admissions when you applied. If you are an alum, this could be an email address you submitted to the Alumnae Association.
- Don’t have a recovery email address on file? Email the Technology Help Desk for support at helpdesk@mtholyoke.edu
- Use the Send login information button to continue. If you entered the correct recovery email address, you will see a green confirmation screen, and an email will be sent to that address with a 1-day passphrase that can be used as a password to log in to your account.
- Check your personal email account for an email with the subject One-day passphrase for logging into MHC Account profile page. Use the link provided in the email to log in to your account with the provided passphrase. From there, you can reset your password using the instructions in the Reset your password section, below.
