OneCard Photo Upload

• Submit a recent color photo. 
• Please submit a .jpeg, .jpg, or .png file. The system will not accept .heic files.
• Use a clear image of your face. Do not use filters commonly used on social media.
• Frame yourself properly to ensure your head is centered and fully visible: from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin. 
• Face the camera directly. Your shoulders should be square to the camera. 
• Use a neutral background.
• Photos should be free of sunglasses, hats, and masks. 

1. Open onecardweb.mtholyoke.edu to manage your account. 
2. Enter your MHC username and password. Then, choose Log On. 

3. Select Account → Upload Photo. 

4. Review the photo requirements and choose Upload when you’re ready to add a new photo. 

5. To adjust the framing of your photo, choose Crop & Rotate. 

6. You may now place the crop lines to establish the new boundaries of your image and use the - or + degree buttons to rotate. When you’re ready, choose Apply Changes. 

7. When you’re satisfied with your new OneCard account image, choose Submit. LITS will review your submission and email you with further information once your photo has been approved or declined.

You'll receive your OneCard when you arrive on campus. It will be inside your welcome packet, which you'll get from the Welcome Tent or in Blanchard Hall. 

Once your image is approved, your card will be available to print the following business day. You may pick up a replacement card at the Technology Help Desk during business hours or at Public Safety and Service on nights and weekends. 

If you're enrolled in an MHC course, you'll be contacted directly with instructions for creating an MHC Guest account to complete the photo upload process.

1 - Lighting 

• Photo is underexposed or overexposed 
• Color balance is off - does not accurately reflect colors of the subject’s features
• Shadows on the face or background 

2 - Size and position (framing) 

• Subject is too close or too far from the camera 
• Subject’s full head is not in the photo 
• Subject is not centered properly 

3 - Resolution and quality 

• Photo is blurry or grainy 

4 - Digital alterations and retouching

• Background is cropped out using a photo retouching tool, altering the outline of the head, face, and neck
• Image is filtered or otherwise edited 
• Image has red eye 

5 - Attire, hats, and hair 

• Clothing is obscuring part of the subject’s face (hat, sunglasses, etc.)  
• Hair is obscuring part of the subject’s face 

6 - Background 

• Subject does not have a neutral background. 

Your photo should appear in campus systems 24-48 hours from the time you receive your approval email.
