Biography
Caro Pinto joined Mount Holyoke in 2013. Previously, she was a manuscript librarian at Yale University and the Critical Social Inquiry Librarian at Hampshire College. As an Association of College and Research Libraries member, she served on committees in the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section, the Women’s and Gender Studies Section, and the ACRL Conference Coordinating Committee. Pinto has an active research agenda; in addition to the various presentations she gives at local and national conferences, she’s also published or co-published several book chapters from ACRL Press; one on digital humanities and subject librarians, a second on critical pedagogy in liberal arts education, a third about contemplative pedagogy, and most recently, a hybrid form essay on how to thrive as a mid-career librarian. You can also find some of Caro’s essays and articles in Archive Journal, Radical Teacher, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and In the Library with the Lead Pipe.
