Students, cooks, facilities management, housemothers, and housekeepers. These are the people that have historically performed the domestic labor of Mount Holyoke College. While often not a part of the official narrative, they play an integral role in maintaining the campus as we know it. From Mary Lyon’s domestic circles in the 19th century to current unionization among staff and students, this exhibit examines how domestic work has been sustained over the years and by whom in order to learn about Mount Holyoke’s mission, values, and reality. Join us to celebrate the opening of ASC's new exhibit "Suds and Studies". Sarah Lancaster '23 will discuss creating the exhibit and give a tour of the materials on display.
