Teaching and Learning in Archives and Special Collections

Archives and Special Collections (ASC) is a vital learning site at Mount Holyoke College. Throughout the curriculum and across the disciplines, classes visit ASC for hands-on, active learning sessions that develop primary source literacy, research skills, and historical thinking.

To schedule a class visit or discuss teaching collaborations, please submit an Instruction Request Form

Please note that instruction sessions in ASC are scheduled on a first come first served basis and subject to space and staffing limitations:

  • The maximum number of students in a class visit is 18
  • Session requests must be made at least three weeks in advance, however, availability is not guaranteed so instructors should initiate contact as soon as possible to ensure a selection of dates and the best pedagogical outcomes.
