Know Our History: Katherine Irene Glascock

Kathryn Irene Glascock graduated Mount Holyoke College in 1922. She was known for her budding mastery of the written word, having been the editor-in-chief of The Mount Holyoke News and the winner of the 1922 Alumnae Poetry Prize for her poem “Adolescence”.  Sadly, she passed away in February 1923 of pneumonia, and the Glascock Intercollegiate Poetry Competition was formed in her honor. This year’s competition will be held March 29-30.
