Stand up against censorship, and celebrate Banned Books Week with LITS! From 10/3 - 10/14, there will be a featured display of banned books in the library. LITS has also organized several events to help the MHC community get engaged with the freedom to read:
- On Wednesday, 10/8 from 6:30 - 8:30pm, compete in a Banned Books Trivia Night in The Pub in Blanchard, for a chance to win bookish prizes and learn more about challenged and banned books! Hosted by renowned Mount Holyoke triviameister Yvaine Neyhard (‘20).
- On Thursday, 10/10 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, stop by the library atrium to sign up for a public library card with staff from the South Hadley Public and Gaylord Libraries! Get access to physical and e-resources from all over central and western Massachusetts, and learn about the wide variety of programming offered at our local public libraries. Public libraries remain at the forefront of the fight against censorship, and are vital community resources for all of us.
