Before submitting your thesis to LITS for archiving, read through these policies. They will help you understand the process and ensure you have all the information you and your advisor need.
Faculty Legislation
In accordance with Faculty Legislation , Library, Information, and Technology Services (LITS) archives and makes accessible the final accepted and corrected version of student honors theses and any accompanying or supporting materials (such as video, images or audio) within our Institutional Archive’s Student Theses and Honors Collection. [While work is underway to update Faculty Legislation, additional guidance appears in brackets.]
- The final (corrected and accepted) version of your thesis must be submitted no later than July 1 of your graduation year [or February 1 for mid-year graduates].
- Once a thesis is submitted and approved into the online collection, no changes are permitted: all edits and revisions must be incorporated before submission.
- Requests for changes to the permissions category (i.e., to move a thesis from Restricted to Public) may be made at any time by contacting Research Services at researchservices-g@mtholyoke.edu.
- Requests to withdraw a thesis after submission are typically not allowed. If you have a special circumstance, contact Research Services at researchservices-g@mtholyoke.edu. Withdrawals will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Dean of Studies office.
LITS will make your thesis, and any accompanying material, available to end users of the Institutional Archive consistent with the access permissions specified by you at the time of submission.
