New phones have arrived on campus

Dear Mount Holyoke College Community,

The first wave of Avaya Voice over IP (VoIP) phones have been deployed across campus. On behalf of the entire phone upgrade project team, thank you for your continued patience throughout the transition process. However, our work isn’t over yet! Here’s what to expect in the coming weeks as our project wraps up.

The cutover successfully took place Friday, August 9th. New Avaya VoIP phones are now ready for use and able to make and receive external/off-campus calls.

Work to address analog lines in public spaces and some office spaces is still in process and will continue over the next 3 weeks.

  • The extensions associated with these phones will be unreachable until the phones have been configured to use the new system. If you’ve attempted to reach your desk phone from an off-campus device and received an out of service message, this is why. If you've encountered this issue, please report it with your extension to the Technology Help Desk

Don’t throw away your old analog phone just yet... In accordance with MHC’s commitment to sustainability, LITS has placed recycling receptacles in key campus locations for faculty and staff to dispose of old phones. Thank you in advance for assisting in the phone collection process. Recycling bin locations:
