LITS welcomes art installations, events, and tabling displays by members of the Mount Holyoke community. Please review the following guidelines if you wish to display a work of art or host an event/table:
- You may request space inside Williston Library (including Miles-Smith) if you are:
- A student(s) affiliated with a formally recognized student organization and groups
- A student(s) enrolled in a class with permission from the faculty member
- Current staff or faculty
- Submit the library space reservation requests at least 2 weeks prior to your event to allow for review and planning of your request.
- Requests will be reviewed by the LITS Administration office within 2 business days of submission
- The LITS Administrative Coordinator may request a meeting to review details of your request, and to coordinate with other offices required to review the request. Please allow for enough time to schedule this.
- Formal approval must be granted prior to installation or space preparation.
- The LITS Administrative Coordinator will work with you on location possibilities that meet the Fire Safety policy, and are mindful of the various noise zones and expectations within designated space in the complex.
- During the semester, the Stimson Room is typically reserved for quiet study space, but may be requested space for an event if it meets the following criteria:
- The event is open to all MHC community members
- The event does not exceed a maximum of three hours, including set up and clean up
- Only one event per calendar week may be scheduled.
- Food and beverages are allowed at events in the library, but the host is responsible for cleaning up afterwards. Please refer to the food policy for students & student groups and the College’s general alcohol policy for specifics.
Please review the LITS Advertising and Flyers policy to find information and guidelines about advertising your event in the LITS Complex.
