The Mount Holyoke College Rare Books Collection contains printed material dating from the late 15th century to the present, as well as medieval manuscript pages. These rare materials support the curriculum of the College and enable us to function as a laboratory for the exploration of material culture. The collection scope is chronologically and geographically broad, with substantial holdings in American and English literature, botany, the history of science, children’s literature and artists’ books.
Rare books are cataloged and our holdings can be viewed online in Discover advanced search. You may search our holdings by author, title, subject, call number, publisher or publication date. For more information or assistance, please ask an archivist.
